Music fans young and old have been saddened by the loss of two great artists over the weekend. Uku Kuut was an Estonian producer known for his unique electronic Soul, Funk & Jazz recordings. He reached wider notoriety several years back after being unearthed by Washington’s “Peoples Potential Unlimited” re-issue label, his sultry, synth-heavy 90s productions striking chords with DJs and collectors worldwide.
Charles Bradley, known as the “Screaming Eagle of Soul”, was a key artist on Daptone Records, the label made infamous with it’s celebration and revivalism of funk and soul music from the 1960s and 1970s. His performances and recording style were compared to greats including Otis Redding and James Brown. Fans willing to show their support can donate to these select charities.
